Latest news from the East Anglian Beer festival 2024
GOOD NEWS FROM THE EAST ANGLIAN BEER AND CIDER FESTIVAL 2024 Over 6500 customers attended the festival over the six days and over 250 volunteers from the Campaign for Real Ale (CAMRA) and the various charities and good causes (over 40 were represented this year up from 13 in 2023). Thankfully the festival was such a success that we hope to be able to be generous to all. The Dean and Chapter and the staff of the cathedral deserve a special thank you to allow us to continue to hold this unique event there. We would like to thank everyone who has made our festival such a success. The festival is a great encouragement for the CAMRA branch which is part of the community of Bury St Edmunds, and the surrounding area. One of the objectives of the local CAMRA branch is to enable the people to see the positive benefits of an organisation like CAMRA for our local community. We were able to assign £15,500 to the charities and good causes who supported us in 2023 - we hope to be able to exceed this for 2024. The donation cheques will be presented in the cathedral on 7th December from 12pm.
